When aardvarks run they will often run in zigzags to elude enemies but will fight back if they have no choice. The body of an aardvark is around 1.1-1.4 meters long which is about 3.6-4.6 feet. That is not including the aardvarks tail which is around 0.53-0.67 meters long which is about 1.7-2.2 feet long. As for weight, an aardvark weighs around 49.9-82kg which is about 110-180 pounds. Aardvarks are nocturnal and dig burrows in the ground to sleep in during the day. The diet of an aardvark mainly consists of termites. The aardvark finds termites by digging up the termite mounds and then they will use their long sticky tongue to get at the termites within. The aardvark has thick skin which protects it from insect bites while it is trying to feed. An aardvark has good hearing which helps it keep aware of predators. Aardvarks are usually preyed on by predators like lions, African wild dogs, pythons, leopards, and hyenas. When an aardvark encounters a predator it will try to run in zigzags to elude the predators coming after them. If that does not work then an aardvark will try to fight back by doing things like using its claws. The gestation period for an aardvark is around 7 months. An aardvark will usually give birth to one offspring. The offspring of an aardvark are referred to as cubs. A newborn aardvark cub will weigh around 1.7-1.9kg which is about 3.7-4.2 pounds.
