As for diet, a cheetah likes to hunt animals like impala, gazelle, and many others. A cheetah will usually kill their prey by knocking them to the ground and then they will suffocate them. A cheetah will suffocate their prey by biting them in the throat to close the windpipe. They will hold this bite until their prey suffocates. Cheetahs have to eat their prey quickly so other larger predators don't steal their kill. Cheetahs do not roar like the other big cats. A cheetah will make sounds like chirps, purring, growls, stuttering, and yowls. The gestation period for a cheetah is around 3 months. A cheetah will usually give birth to about 2-8 offspring. The offspring of a cheetah are referred to as cubs. A newborn cheetah cub will weigh around 0.15-0.3kg which is about 0.3-0.7 pounds. As for lifespan, a cheetah will live for around 12 years in the wild. A cheetah can live up to about 20 years in captivity.
