How Fast Can a Coyote Run?
A coyote can run at speeds up to around 40mph which in kilometers per hour is around 64km/h. As for size, coyote's body is around 1-1.3 meters long which is about 3.3-4.3 feet long; that's including the coyote's tail which is around 0.3-0.4 meters long which in inches is about 11-15 inches long. The coyote is around 0.62 meters tall at the shoulder which is about 2 feet tall at the shoulder. As for weight, a coyote weighs around 7-22kg which in pounds is about 15-50 pounds. Coyotes have excellent vision and a strong sense of smell. Coyotes are also very intelligent. In the fall and early winter coyotes will usually form packs. As for diet, a coyote will mainly try to hunt things like rabbits and deer, but they will pretty much eat anything if they have to including fruit, grass, and even peoples pets. Coyotes will usually hunt in pairs but they have also been known to hunt as a pack. The larger coyote packs are usually more successful when hunting than the smaller coyote packs. Coyotes don't just live in the wild, a coyote is a very adaptive animal and has even adapted to living in or near cities. The territory of a coyote will usually range from around 4-15 square miles which is about 10.4-38.8 square kilometers. There are around 19 subspecies of coyote. The gestation period for a coyote is around 58-65 days. A coyote will usually give birth to about 4-7 pups. It is possible for them to have more pups than this, some have even had 19. The offspring of a coyote are usually referred to as pups. A newborn coyote pup will usually weigh around 0.25kg which is about 0.55 pounds. When a coyote is born they are usually blind, there eyes will not open until around 10 days after birth. A coyote will usually be fully grown by about 9-12 months. As for lifespan, a coyote will live for around 6-14 years in the wild. A coyote can live up to around 21 years in captivity.
