How Fast Can a Gorilla Run?

A gorilla can run at speeds of 20-25mph which is about 32.2-40.2km/h.  A male gorilla is around 1.7-1.8 meters tall which is about 5.6-5.9 feet tall.  A female gorilla is around 1.4-1.5 meters tall which is about 4.6-4.9 feet tall.  As for weight, a male gorilla in the wild will weigh around 135-220kg which is about 298-485 pounds.  A female gorilla in the wild will weigh around 68-90kg which is around 150-198 pounds.  Gorillas will use their knuckles when walking on all fours which is known as knuckle-walking.  Gorillas live in stable family groups that can have over 30 members.  These family groups are usually led by an older male gorilla often referred to as a silverbacked male.  They are referred to as silverbacked males because of the silver hair adult male gorillas have on their backs.  Sometimes the groups are led by more than one male, when that's the case the males are related.  Usually the males are father and son but sometimes it's brothers leading together.  The rest of the members will be the females and their offspring.  The gestation period for a gorilla is around 8.5 months.  As for diet, gorillas are for the most part herbivores.  Gorillas eat things like roots, fruit, tree bark, stalks, shoots, seeds, and flowers.  Gorillas also have been known to eat ants and termites.  Gorillas are not as aggressive as chimpanzees and unlike chimpanzees the nests of gorillas are on the ground.  The nests of gorillas are made out of leaves and branches.  Conflicts between gorillas are usually resolved through intimidation and don't usually become physical.  Gorillas are intelligent and have been known to use tools.  Also some gorillas in captivity have been taught to use a subset of sign language.  As for lifespan, a gorilla will live for around 30-50 years.
